Teen genre

These three movie relate to each other on a high level of representing how the life of being a teenager is hard on many levels, un on some levels, and emotional on other levels. The movies that are most relative to life are Rebel Without A Cause, The Breakfast Club, and Perks Of Being A Wallflower. The  teens in these movies give a great showing of teen life, like how it is living at home, dealing with parents, dealing with school, and trying to connect with others. It isn't easy being  teenager trying to connect with others. Being a teen suck and every day it get's harder and easier at the same time and no one know's if it ever get better.

In Rebel With Out A Cause were shown a teenager with family problems, his dad isn't great at being a man and a father. The teenager gets in trouble time and time again and his family always move to run away from it and the teen say's it's his dad falt. There's also another teen in the movie that suffer from parent issue's and keep's lashing out for love and attention from her two parents. In this movie it's giving of a high sign that parents need to give their teenage child more attention or they'll do bad thing's. Parent's in many ways just don't understand teenagers and don't know how to deal with them, and don't know how to connect with them.

In The Breakfast Club were have five teens that have issue's of their own that they don't know how to deal with. In the movie it's self they say what they are a brain, a athlete, a princess, a criminal, and a basket case. All of them tell each other of their parents being over controlling and demanding of what they want them to be. Each of them seem to hate their parents for making them the way they are in the movie. Each character over the course of the movie become better aware characters and teach of them see that they have to be what their parents want but be what ever it is you want to be.

In Perks Of Being A Wallflower which is personally my favorite teen movie of the three because I relate most to the character, suffers from the emotional trama of his aunt doing ilegal things to him. He trie's to push back deeper in his mind what happened to him but it keep coming back. He makes his life better by becoming friends with a group of kids that are extreme in their own way. Over the length of the movie he becomes a better character, and over the course of the movie he help his friends become better and they help him. This movie show's that it's not always the parents with the problems but the teenager them selve is the one that need's help and doesn't know how to deal with it.

Disney discussion

The topic today is on disney movies and the symbolism and message that movies are maybe  trying to send little kids. There are many disney movies that hold allot of messages, but i'm only focusing on a few of their movies. One movie is called The Little Mermaid, another is Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. When looked at closely anyone can see the very grown up every day things some men and women go through.

The first thing i'm going to talk about is the fact that in disney movie they expose little kids to very grown up problems that for som e happen in their every day life. In little mermaid is this important rich in authority girl daughter of king triton. She complains about not being happy, about her wanting more than what she already have. the villan of the movie of the movie make a deal with ariel ti  make her human and say's things like men don't want a women that can talk and they like women that can cook. This is pretty much saying that women don't have a say in anything, that just appost to clean and do everything men say.

In Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs the message in this movie is saying that women are lost with out men to protect them, and guid them. In the movie Snow White is this helpless girl that's so sweet and innocent in a world of wrong doings, and she dosen't understand the danger around her. We she got in trouble or did something she should't of done the dwarfs were there to help her. Even in the ending when she'sa put under a spell and stuck in an endless sleep a man is the one that had to help her wake. In this movie men are figurer's that control women's fate and it's showing that women need constant protection.

All these movies show that in disney princess movies they have some kind of way to show a representation of the real world and real life problems. In the movies they show the problems of love, marriage, and different levels of wealth. Disney movies have been doing this for years and years and their trying to expose younger viewers to adult problems early in life. What disney is doing is a bad thing because some viewers might take it the wrong way and create something else out of it. But it's also a god idea because then viewers can have a better understanding now so they can be better to deal with it in the future.

Bonnie & Clyde / Thelma & Louise

There is a big connection between the movies (Bonnie and Clyde)&( Thelma and Louise), the connection is the view on feminist criticism. In Bonnie and Clyde the movie show these two characters that go on a journey together that eventually(*spoiler alert) end in their death. The movie captures the relation between a man and women and who has more power or control. Bonnie is this sweet sexually agressive smart women that like things to be the way she want them, and Clyde is a escape criminal that   has the charm, smarts and means to get what he need. Both are similar and connect to one another but there's a bit of tension of who's in charge , but both has a level of equal librium which make these two so easily to enjoy watching on screen.

In Thelma and Louise this movie is similar to bonnie and clyde but in this both characters are women and they already know each other when the movie start. Thelma is a stay at home wife that take care of her jerk of a husband and for her when at home she don't have any control. Now louise on the other hand is tough, with a job and a loving boyfriend and she is't afraid to do what she want when she want to. Over the course of the movie the both of them go on an vacation that end's up taking them on a life changing journey and along the way in multiple scens one of them is in charge, then the other is in charge. Even though in the end (*spoiler alert) they die they still have an accomplishment of wining because they didn't let the men around them control them and continue to have power they did what they wanted and died happy in the end.

Both films have feminist criticism because of the way both films portray women as strong people that shouldn't be taken for granted and should be treated with respect, love, and honor. The movies show that women aren't these scared beings that like being bossed around, but characters that can do what ever a man can do and sometimes do it better. Both movie's director's wanted the viewer or viewers to see what their trying to express that women are tough and can basically do anything.

comparing Citizen kane and American Beauty

American Beauty and Citizen Kane are similar in many way's but im going to focus on fact that both characters want to be younger again. In Kane's movie it show his life from a young boy to an old man, and through out that time he go through allot, and as viewers we can see that he want to have a childhood again. Through out the movie he's constantly moving and buying things and he even try to buy love and happiness. Because of his father treating him wrongly he don't get to spend much time with his mother and his childhood get ripped away from him. So because of the lack of parenting in his life and he just had people buying him things and him buying things him self he really don't know what love s and how to obtain it.

In American Beauty Lester sort of face the same problem but he already experienced love and want to experience being a teenager. His marriage has depleted, him and his wife are distant from each other. While the wife is cheating on him, going to gun ranges, and bing more crazy the dad is out blak mailing people, getting a fast food job, and tacking back a life in which money seem more important. While he's doing this he isn't seeing the big picture of actual becoming apart of some one else's life he's just becoming a dictator. When on his path of redemption he should of been more inclined to work his way back into his daughters life and possible get his wife back.

To me both characters over time developed into something in which they may of done allot but    didn't really do what they really wanted. In Citizen Kane by the end of the film pretty much drove away every one he thought he cared about except for the maids who's inclined to stay there and take care of him. American beauty's character Lester developed over time as well he managed to cause his wife to go insane, his daughter hated him so much she was about to run away with her boyfriend ricky but he did learn something. Both characters learned that over the course of their lives they never really got back the thing they both really wanted which is love, but by the end they understand right before their death what they had to do to be happy.
